About me

Welcome to TechBrett: Your Hub for Tech Exploration and Learning!

Hello and welcome to my blog – techbrett.net, where I’ll b diving into the realm of professional development and exploring projects in my homelab. With nearly a decade of experience in the IT industry, I’ve spent the past few years getting up to speed to bridge knowledge gaps and expanding my expertise by learning new products and services. Currently, I’m in a role where I provide dedicated support for Microsoft 365 and Teams Rooms to a wide variety of business customers.

My eventual goal is to become an Azure Engineer, but the cloud space is so vast, and my coding experience is quite limited. As someone who’s also relatively new to web development, I’ve embarked on this exciting journey to not only showcase my technical abilities but also to document my learning process and write tutorials for others.

Focus Areas

  • Technical Portfolio: Here, you’ll find a collection of my tech-related projects and achievements. It’s a place where I showcase my skills and share what I’ve built or accomplished within Azure and Microsoft365, or as I fumble around with scripting in PowerShell and writing code in Python.
  • Homelab Adventures: Join me as I explore ProxMox, TrueNAS, and various home networking solutions. I’ve implemented a variety of self-hosting solutions into my home setup, yet I still use public facing services for irreplaceable backups. I’ll share my successes, challenges, and the valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way.
  • Tutorials and Insights: This blog isn’t just about my journey; I’d also like it to serve as documentation for others. I’ll be adding in-depth tutorials, guides, and insights into various tech topics.

I created this website to serve as a learning platform, both for myself and for anyone passionate about technology. It’s a space where I document what I’ve learned, share exciting projects on the horizon, and provide step-by-step tutorials to help others navigate the complex world of tech. Expect an honest account of my journey, including numerous mistakes and wrong turns. But fear not, mistakes are how I learn best, and these moments will serve as valuable learning experiences!

So, whether you’re here to learn, explore, or simply geek out about all things tech, I invite you to join me on this exciting journey. Together, we’ll unravel the wonders of technology, one byte at a time.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to sharing this adventure with you!
